C O M This standalone digital thermometer controls the temperature of a device according to its requirement. More complex devices like thermocouple sensors can be built with these basic devices. There are also 1-wire devices that have encryption included. In this mode, the DQ pin of the DS is configured as a singlewire port for communication with a microprocessor using the protocols described in the single-wire bus system section of the datasheet. This state persists across power cycles and operates in both 1-wire and thermostat modes.
The bus is a low-power low-speed low-connector scheme where the data line can also provide power. It is unaddressable, and therefore there can be only one on a given bus. Then DQ goes low for some time. See the datasheet for further information on thermostat mode.
These pins are pulled high through a kilo-ohm resistor. When this iterative process is complete,the value in the temperature register will indicate the centigrade temperature of the device. A 12MHz crystal is used for microcontroller clock. Define the various port pins and where they are connected. Switch S1 is used as a reset switch. Resistors R5 through R22 limit the current through the 7-segment display. The underlying principle is to create a virtual filesystem, with the unique ID being the directory, and the individual properties of the device are represented as simple files that can be read and written.
